Brent Christianson was born and raised in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, received his B.A. degree from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa and his Masters of Divinity from Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul. He retired in September, 2014, after 21 years as Campus Pastor for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in Madison, Wisconsin. He was the self-anointed poet-laureate for LaCrosse Central High school where one of his poems almost got him expelled. He has been an active poet since young years but in the past two decades has published in many journals, Wisconsin Poets’ Calendars, anthologies. He has twice won first prize in the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets Triad contest. He lives in Madison with his wife, Rebecca, a retired teacher.

Related Event: Woodland Pattern Book Center is pleased to celebrate two recent publications by Wisconsin poets, including the inaugural publication in our brand new imprint, Tinder|Tender. Brent Christianson’s chapbook, Viaticum, was published by tinder tender in late 2014, and Tom Montag’s In This Place: Selected Poems 1982-2013 was published in 2014 by MWPH.
